Very happy with my most recent Christmas card effort.

After a few hours of designing and planning I had precut all the pieces, ready for assembly. I created a little production line at a Scrapbook Cottage (my local scrapbook shop) crop night. Overall it took me about 8 hours to make approximately 50 cards, not a bad effort if I do say so myself.

The card was inspired by the Teresa Collins Tinsel & Company collection. By the time I got around to making cards most of the line was sold out in my area, but I did manage to get the background paper for the cards. I had a moment of inspiration when I saw the burlap ribbon in Bed, Bath and Table on sale and using three contrasting papers with the ornament punch from Stampin Up completed the look.

I gave some small personalised gifts to my scrappy friends for Christmas and these were the tags I made to accompany them. My favourite part is the JOY stamp from Kellie Stamps in Victoria, Australia. A clear, crisp font always sucks me in 🙂

I felt great about using some of the material flowers I got from Stampin Up a while ago. They are dimensional and I hadn’t found the right way to use them on a layout yet, I think I felt like they would get squashed inside a page protector.

When I made this card out of leftover scraps a few years ago I loved it so much I made a second one straight away. I gave the first card to a friend as planned, but I’ve been hanging on to the second one for a few years.

I didn’t want to part with it – it feels silly saying this out loud (so to speak) but it was like I was giving away a little part of myself. But in the spirit of de-cluttering and making way for new things in my life it was time to let it go. The second one went to a colleague who appreciated and admired it, and that was enough to make it okay.

A wedding card for a colleague was a perfect opportunity to play with my new Stampin Up products.

I recently bought the Mosaic Madness punch, stamp set and embossing folder – my favourite things out of the new catalogue.

I love using doilies on my cards, they’re so hot right now, and the grey and silver co-ordinated so beautifully.
