Archive for June 2013

I love the colours in the fourth Jot Magazine mood board challenge so much so I have scrapped a photo of myself from a mini photo shoot by Jenerations Photography in April 2013.

I’m an optimistic person so I’ve chosen this photo to reflect this aspect of my personality. I take a lot of photos, and scrap a lot of them too, but not many of them are of me and there are even less layouts about me. So it’s time to branch out and start celebrating me. Thanks Jot Magazine for the inspiration and the impetus.

Between visits to the Pantheon and Jardin du Luxembourg K and I stopped at a little hole in the wall gelato store, Amorino, for a refreshing break. I love this photo of K – most of our holiday photos are very sensible face forward shots, so this photo is a refreshing break from all that normalcy.

I orignally created this layout with a plain cream background, but it was too stark. I extended the circle motif that was throughout this layout with a doily stamp I picked up at the recent Craft & Quilt Fair. (I’m so proud of myself – I have so many stamps that I never use and I’ve already put this new stamp to good use!).

Normally I just scrapbook for myself, but I need some new inspiration to move me outside my comfort zone. So when I saw the Jot Magazine mood board challenge for this week with all its bright colours I had to give it a go.

The photos from my January 2011 trip to Taronga Zoo seemed bold enough to stand up to the vibrant colours of the mood board. Amazing what a few bits of chipboard, washi tape and some paper flowers can do!
